Zuma Housing — SMS Consent Flow

This page documents how Zuma Housing collects express written consent from users before sending any SMS messages. This page is publicly available for review purposes.

Step 1 — User visits the signup form

Users access the Zuma Housing signup form at www.zumahousing.com. On Step 1 of the form, users are asked to provide their first name, last name, email address, and optionally their phone number.

Step 2 — SMS consent checkbox (unchecked by default)

Directly below the phone number field, users are presented with the following consent checkbox. The checkbox is unchecked by default. The user must actively check it to provide consent. Consent is not required to use the service.

By checking this box you agree to receive recurring text messages from Zuma Housing about available properties and leasing information. Message frequency varies, up to 10 msgs/month. Msg & data rates may apply. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help. The checkbox shown above is an exact reproduction of the consent language displayed in the Zuma Housing signup form. The checkbox is rendered unchecked and requires an affirmative action from the user to opt in.

  • STOP — Immediately unsubscribes the user. A final confirmation message is sent and no further messages are delivered.
